SUMMER SCHEDULE, 2017
Park Ministries: (Our favorite part of summer!)
Every Monday at Foster Park and every Thursday at Ferris Park from 5:45-7:30 pm. All are welcome to come and support the ministry and to bring your kids to participate in games, Bible study, and pizza! For those who want to lead, there is a mandatory training that is done with our Youth Director, Kyle Lake. Contact email@example.com.
Independence Weekend Family Event:
Sunday, July 2nd at 6 pm, everyone is invited to Pastor Justin’s House. 10841 Bond Rd., Dewitt. Hotdogs and drinks will be provided and feel free to bring a dish to pass. For this event, kids in attendance must be accompanied by an adult. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lansing Summer Mission Trip/Stay, July 27-28:
We have scheduled two intentional days of serving and loving people in Lansing. We will be busy from about 8 am to 8 pm both Thursday and Friday. As a group, we plan to work, eat, share, and worship together. We are inviting you to pray about making this a serious priority for two days! It may mean taking time off work, finding a baby-sitter, and it will certainly require some hard work. We are so excited to build a community with one another as we serve others. Our serve plans include implementing and running a field day and lunch at the Children’s Home at Saint Vincent Catholic Charities, delivering “boxes of love” to families as part of our Foster and Ferris Park Outreach, and celebrating together by putting on a concert Friday evening at Foster Park. Please contact email@example.com to commit to this or for further questions.
Every 3rd Sunday of the month, directly after the service, we will be buying pizza for everyone and inviting all to stick around for 30 minutes to eat and fellowship. These times are scheduled to intentionally gather into small discussion groups to get to know new people and to discuss the sermon together. There is never any pressure to stay, just know that you are invited!
Summer Book Club:
We inviting women and men to read and discuss the book, “Waking Up White and Finding Myself in the Story of Race,” by Debbie Irving. The audio-book is available free through Hoopla (you just need a library card to access). The group will be meeting to discuss the book at the Burmeister’s home (532 Florence St., Lansing) on the following dates: Thursday, June 22nd (Pages 1-92), Thursday July 20th (Pages 93-184), Thursday, August 24th (Pages 185-254). Children are welcome to come along, there will be an activity provided for small children, a trampoline out back for older children, and light refreshments for all. While the book is written from a white perspective, people from all races are invited to participate in the discussion. Honest insight from all is appreciated. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
MOVE night of worship and the Word. Come join women from a variety of Lansing churches on August 25th from 6-8 pm at Christian Celebration Center Church, 3000 W. Miller Rd., Lansing. Contact email@example.com.
